Lost without you (2)

My heart is beat but it’s still beating,
I am hollow inside,
My soul is still weeping
It’s just the tears that have dried
A wound that even time cannot heal,
An unrequited love, that I will always feel.

She cries herself to sleep now,
And he finds solace in rum,
These memories still haunt them,
And they will for years to come.

And yes, you are a pretty face,
But that’s all you really are,
You’re only to be savoured,
Like one appreciates A Star,

From afar.

Post Scriptum: This poem has been composed by my friend Suyash Srivastava and is the second compilation in the series Lost without you. A wonderful writer, I wish him all the best for the future.
